Skin Type Regimen Pro Tips

Looking for the right regimen for your skin? Not sure how to determine what skin type you are? Whether oily, combination, dry, or somewhere in between, our pro guides are here to help you find your perfect skin solutions and target your treatments, for your healthiest, happiest glow ever.

Skin type is the natural place to start setting your skincare routine, as the textures, ingredients, formulations, and treatments will help support your specific needs. For oily skin types, as your skin may be more prone to congestion from excess oil, blocked pores, blackheads, and even acne, look to products that are lightweight, oil-free, balancing, and clarifying, with salicylic acid, niacinamide, and antibacterial actives.

For dry skin types, you’ll need regular boosts of hydration in nourishing, richer formulations loaded with moisturizing, calming, and soothing essentials such as hyaluronic acid, shea butter, squalane, and other oils. With combination skin, it’s all about balance as you may have an oily T-zone and dry patches, or a different combination altogether. This can make it tricky to know what products to go for but generally AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) are great exfoliators for combination skin, BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) help balance oil production and treat breakouts, and for your serums and moisturizers, antioxidants and oil-free hydrators added to dry zones work well. Once you find your skin type essentials, then you can add in more targeted treatments to meet your overall skin goals.
